Refresh Your Hotel Decor with 3M™ DI-NOC™ Architectural Finishes

Visitor experience is an important element of hotel operations and the hotel décor can greatly improve a visitor’s perception.

3M™ DI-NOC™ Architectural Finishes can give your hotel décor and updated look by resurfacing flat surfaces of existing furniture, doors, columns and walls at a fraction of the cost of actual replacement.

How Can 3M DI-NOC Update a Hotel’s Decor?

Manufactured by the world’s leader in adhesive technology, 3M™ DI-NOC™ Architectural Finishes cover existing flat surfaces. More than 1,000 design options are available, including deep, solid colors, industrial metals, natural woods and textile finishes.

Hotels have installed DI-NOC products worldwide, giving a new refreshed look to hotel décor, including lobby desks, elevator panels, hotel room doors, baseboards, furniture and more. Installing DI-NOC requires less labor and materials than opting for real wood, metal or fabric. The finishes can be installed quickly with little interruption, meaning that hotel operations are not adversely affected.

Choose From More Than 1,000 DI-NOC Designs for Your Hotel Decor

There are more than 1,000 textures, wood grains and metals to choose from to transform a hotel décor both inside and out.

3M™ DI-NOC™ Matte Series provides a deep, high quality texture and is designed to diffuse reflection. The effect makes it difficult to tell that the DI-NOC covering is not real wood, metal, stone or actual material. Offer a stunning visual effect on any surface!

3M™ DI-NOC™ Exterior Finishes are ideal for the outside of a hotel, including columns, doorways, outdoor entryways, side panels and more. The finishes are designed to handle the harsh elements caused by the sun and weather.

With so many textures and styles to choose from, the design possibilities are endless with 3M™ DI-NOC™ in a hotel setting.

DI-NOC is Durable and Easy to Clean, Sanitize For Your Hotel

Sterilization is important to hotel operators and hotel guests, and DI-NOC can withstand repeated cleaning by hotel staff.

In fact, 3M™ DI-NOC™ Architectural Finishes have a durable surface that is easy to clean, maintain and repair. DI-NOC™ can be cleaned with typical commercial grade cleaners and disinfectants known, according to their product labels, to destroy or suppress the growth of harmful microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, or fungi, without deterioration of the surface finish.

For a full list of tested and compatible cleaners and disinfectants, including 3M™ Cleaners and Disinfectants, please reference pages 3-5 of the 3M™ DI-NOC™ Architectural Finishes Technical Datasheet.

Your guests can rest easy knowing that surfaces have been cleaned and sanitized.

DINOC Installation Supports Hotel Sustainability Practices

Many hotels are concerned with more offering green, sustainable operations, including encouraging guests to reuse towels and reducing plastic products. Installing 3M™ DI-NOC™ Architectural Finishes means less waste and greater sustainability during a hotel décor refurbishment.

Refreshing existing furniture and walls with DI-NOC keeps waste from the landfill. This is more environmentally friendly and can save a hotel on disposal fees.

In addition, 3M™ DI-NOC™ Architectural Finishes can help with obtaining LEED credits. These credits may be available if DI-NOC is used to refinish salvaged, refurbished or reused nonstructural materials, furniture and furnishings, walls and other permanently installed interior elements.

Credits also may be available because DI-NOC is manufactured as a low-emitting material, which is in compliance with the General Emissions Evaluation according to the California Department of Public Health Standard Method V1.1-2010 and V1.2-2017.

How One Hotel Saved Money with DI-NOC

Hilton Minneapolis saved money and renovated the hotel décor of its rooms using 3M™ DI-NOC™ Finishes. The entire hotel got a whole new look without taking on the cost of real mahogany wood.

According to a 3M case study, the hotel wanted to give its facility an updated look, including changing the appearance of its doors. For full door replacement, hotel management had projected the cost to be about $1,000 per door, including hardware. Instead, hotel management opted to install DI-NOC at cost of approximately $500 per door. After the renovation was complete, the Hilton Minneapolis saved more than $1 million on the entire project.

In Elainne Halbersbarg’s 2014 article in Interiors & Sources magazine, Getty’s Principal Michael Maurer, AIA, who worked on the Hilton project, was quoted as saying of the installed DI-NOC: “They really bring a level of luxury or richness. It’s a dark stain with a very consistent and fine grain, so it adds an element of luxury to the room that is very much in keeping with Hilton’s desire to provide that upscale experience for their guests…”
